Welcome to Milk Maid Ranch. We are Paul and Suzy Minck and we've lived here since 1995 with our 2 children, Jonny and Rachel. Our 40 acres is the zoo I always
wanted. The dogs, cats, goats, horses, rabbits, ducks, chickens, and the fawns, (I'm also a deer rehabilitator) have very happy lives here in Stephenville, Texas.
I am a member of AGS (American Goat Society) and MDGA (Miniature
Dairy Goat Association).

My interest in goats started back in 1994, in Lincoln, CA. when a friend of mine called one day and said she needed help feeding her kids. Rachel, 3 at the time, and I went right over. I fell in love and my friend gave me 2 Alpine/Nubian, weanling doe's. We were planning on moving here to Texas and she wanted to help me start my herd. Yes, the doe's came with us.

Within a few months I bought 3 Saanens. I used a Boer buck and was so impressed with the kids growth being on dairy moms. My small herd grew to over 100 head in just a few years. I loved it so much. The animals are my escape from the nasty things in life. Then, in 2002 I had a bad truck accident and broke my neck in several places and the Dr. said I would lose the use of everything from my neck down. My faith in Jehovah God kept me strong but I knew I would have to sell most of the girls. With three operations behind me, life is on an even keel with a few things I can't do anymore.

I looked into Nigerian Dwarves so I could still have goats that were easier for me to handle. I bought 2 pregnant doe's from a local woman. Blackberry and Bluebonnet started my Nigerian herd and I still have Blackberry. A few months back I lost Bluebonnet but have her daughter, Ciara, to carry her lines.

In the fall of 2004 I was looking for a new buck for the girls and came across
Sunni Milligan's Flat Rock Farm website. She had what I was looking for.
Sunni gave me Kim Steele's name and I bought 5 more Jr. Does from her.
My bloodlines are good even though I don't show, due to my accident.

I strive to breed quality goats with udders that have good attachments and won't break down as they age and keep the dairy qualities in their conformation, their personalities and gentleness are an added pleasure. My bloodlines are from National Champions and Master Champions. I cater to the people that have a few acres and want the same kind of life I have on my hobby farm. Milking for the house is healthier. The benefits are numerous. Goat milk is the world's perfect drink.

So, take a look at what Milk Maid Ranch has to offer and if there is a kid from
a breeding that you'd be interested in let me know. There were kids born in the Fall of 2005 and kids due in Feb. of 2006.
Thank you for your interest, Suzy Minck
